The new Polestar 4 ‘SUV’ has been teased once more by the Swedish automaker today, ahead of global sales commencing on September 2, 2026.

Deliveries of the more practical new variant are expected to commence “before the end of the year”, and this will be the first model from the Geely-owned brand to arrive in Australia from Polestar’s facility in Busan, South Korea.

Full pricing and specifications are still to be announced, but reading between the lines we’re expecting a similar lineup to the existing Polestar 4 ‘coupé’, which currently offers Rear motor and Dual motor variants in Australia.

Polestar says the new 4 SUV will offer up to 630km of WLTP-certified range in Rear motor guise, while Dual motor versions will boast 400kW of power, just like coupé versions.

The new variant has been confirmed to utilise the same changes rolled out for the MY27 Polestar 4 coupé, which include a recalibrated chassis, with significant suspension revisions including new spring rates, high-capacity dampers and revised anti-roll bar settings.

Combined with a new steering tune, Polestar said in a statement the chassis tweaks are intended to bring a “more controlled ride” and improve both comfort and agility.

Further, the longer and higher roofline offers “added layer of flexibility and practicality, with versatile storage capabilities for every journey”. There’s also a conventional rear window, unlike in the coupé where drivers must rely solely on an HD camera-based digital rear-view mirror.
