Volkswagen Group Australia is recalling the Volkswagen Polo hatchback and T-Cross and T-Roc crossover SUVs to fix a fault that may stop their instruments from appearing.

“Due to a software issue, the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) may fail to illuminate the visual vehicle speed, fuel level and other critical safety information,” the company says in its recall notice.

“If the vehicle starts and the instrument cluster remains blank, the vehicle must not be driven. Operating the vehicle without visible safety system warnings may increase the risk of an accident causing injury or death to vehicle occupants, other road users and bystanders.”

Looking for your next car? We’ll help you research and compare so you choose with confidence.

    • A total of 1192 vehicles are affected across the Polo, T-Cross and T-Roc lines, produced between 2024 and 2025
    • The Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) list is attached here
    • The original recall notice is attached here

If you own an affected vehicle, you’ll need to schedule an appointment with an authorised Volkswagen dealer to have the software updated, free of charge.

For any further questions, you can contact the Volkswagen Recall Campaign Hotline on 1800 504 076.
