It’s been close to a year since Studio Dragon’s time travel hit, Bon Appétit, Your Majesty dropped on Netflix back in August 2025. Even surrounded by phenomenal releases like When Life Gives You Tangerines, Genie Make A Wish, and Squid Game 3, Bon Appétit, Your Majesty has managed to hold on well into 2026.
In fact, halfway into the year, Bon Appétit, Your Majesty is still ranked among Netflix’s top 20 most-watched K-dramas so far. The series has racked up an impressive 6.6 million views in 2026 so far, according to Netflix‘s What We Watched report, proving that it’s still far from running out of steam. Clearly, fans want more of this classic regression sensation, and it just so happens that Bon Appétit, Your Majesty has returned in an all-new form.
Netflix’s Bon Appétit, Your Majesty Now Has Its Own Webtoon
A webtoon adaptation of Bon Appétit, Your Majesty was recently released on Webtoon on May 23, 2026, and it’s the perfect next read for fans of the drama. Bon Appétit, Your Majesty’s K-drama was originally based on a web novel called Surviving as Yeonsangun’s Chef by Park Guk-jae, and this new webtoon adapts the web novel instead of the drama, offering fans a refreshing retelling of the story.
The webtoon was originally released on Naver Webtoon back in September 2025, where the Korean release has racked up a little over 50 chapters so far. Meanwhile, the official English release on Webtoon is presently sitting at 31 chapters, offering fans quite a decent binge. While Yoona and Lee Chae-min make for a visual duo that’s hard to beat, the art of Bon Appétit’s webtoon is quite charming.
The webtoon adaptation is also excellently paced compared to the K-drama, making for quite a breezy binge. That said, there are certainly differences between the two adaptations story-wise — whether that’s Ji-yeong’s relationship with her father or the manner in which she is sent back to the past. The webtoon also features a very different first meeting between Ji-yeong and Yeon, though the core aspects of their relationship and the story, such as the Magunrok book, remain the same.
Bon Appétit’s webtoon also features many familiar dishes from the K-drama coupled with a few new ones such as tiramisu, sometimes with recipes thrown in at the end of chapters as well. And, as for the biggest deal-breaker, fans can rest assured that the webtoon definitely includes Bon Appétit, Your Majesty’s iconic, over-the-top, Food Wars-esque reactions to the food.
Bon Appétit’s Webtoon Could Fix the K-Drama’s Biggest Problem
All in all, while Bon Appétit, Your Majesty’s webtoon is still in its early stages, the series seems very promising already. The K-drama has already proved the series has a solid story to work with. And beyond that, the webtoon could finally take its time and expand where the K-drama could not within its limited run.
For one, Bon Appétit’s webtoon could properly flesh out the ending of the K-drama and how Yeon makes it to the future. This part of the story did feel rather rushed in the K-drama and is perhaps the one and only real criticism of the series. Considering the way things ended in the K-drama, there also was not much hope for a second season, despite fans desperately wanting more.
However, Bon Appétit, Your Majesty’s webtoon could potentially finally give fans what they want, whether that’s in the form of an epilogue or side stories at the end of the series. But until then, fans will have to tune in to Bon Appétit, Your Majesty every Saturday on Webtoon.
