Jeremy Allen White becomes Wolverine in exciting Marvel Cinematic Universe art, which clashes with his comments about joining the franchise. Given the success of The Bear, White has become one of Hollywood’s most popular talents over the past few years. The show has led to multiple award nominations and wins for its lead star. Rumors of joining the MCU’s slate soon started.
As has become normal since the franchise established itself, rising stars like White soon find their names in fancasting conversations for different roles within the MCU machine. Out of all the choices, Wolverine in the MCU X-Men movie, which will reboot the team, has become the most popular. While Hugh Jackman is still in the MCU as Wolverine, a recast might not be far away.
On Threads, artist @jobhutz imagined what Jeremy Alen White could look like as the MCU Wolverine.
The fan art sees the actor don Wolverine’s iconic yellow and blue X-Men suit from the comics. Given the black stripes, the design is different enough from the suit Jackman finally donned in one of the MCU’s best movies, Deadpool & Wolverine. The facial hair and hairstyle are also on point.
Could Jeremy Allen White Ever Join The MCU As Wolverine?
White’s role in The Bear eventually led to the actor sitting down with Marvel Studios. White talked about it in 2023, revealing to GQ that he “played it wrong,” given that the actor went into the meeting with “an attitude.” Based on his comments, if Marvel was banking on that conversation for White to join the MCU, then that should likely never happen.
While the actor has not had a major change of heart about being in superhero movies, White did comment on how he went about it badly. On the Happy Sad Confused podcast, The Bear star claimed that he “was out of line“ and that he should have handled the meeting differently. That said, he does not know where he would fit into the superhero genre.
Based on his comments, it seems that Jeremy Allen White recognizes that his meeting with Marvel should have been different, but the actor does not seem interested in being in a superhero movie in the future. Right now, Hugh Jackman still plays Wolverine in the MCU, but after Avengers: Secret Wars reboots the franchise, a new actor should be cast for the MCU X-Men movie.
Why Jeremy Allen White Would Be Great For The MCU Wolverine
Taking his comments aside, Jeremy Allen White would be one of the best possible choices for the new Wolverine. After 25 years with Jackman in the role, the new version of Logan should have the same kind of serious nature, gruff persona, and gravitas that the Fox X-Men actor has brought to the role.
As Carmy in The Bear, White has shown that his dramatic chops are among the industry’s best. He can bring the needed intensity to the role, being able to express so much while saying so little, suiting a man of few words like Logan. At 34, he could realistically play Wolverine for the next decade, fitting the MCU X-Men reboot, though that looks unlikely.
