Changing your character’s appearance in Where Winds Meet is easier than you might think, as you mainly need enough Echo Jade, one of the game’s main currencies. On top of that, there’s a secret opportunity to change your character’s facial features for free, but it’s a one-time offer that’s easy to miss.
To ensure you’re dressed to impress at all times, here’s how to change your character’s appearance in Where Wind Meet, including intel on Cheng Xin and how to get Water Lady Scripts.
How to change your appearance for free in Where Winds Meet
Good news: You can change your clothes, hairstyle, and makeup as often as you like in Where Winds Meet. To change outfits and hairstyles, open the in-game menu and go to “appearance,” click on one of the equipment slots, and select the item you wish to wear. You can obtain more clothes and hairstyles by completing quests or purchasing them from Where Winds Meet’s in-game shop.
To change your character’s makeup, go to “appearance” again and click the “appearance” button in the bottom left. You can adjust your current face preset or add a new one.
However, while changing makeup is free, changing your character’s facial features, including the shape of your character’s eyes, nose, and mouth, costs one Water Lady Script. To get additional Water Lady Scripts, go to the shop, click “items,” and buy them for 200 Echo Jade a piece. This is the game’s main currency, so you don’t need to spend real money; just complete some quests or open treasure chests to get more Echo Jade!
Change your appearance for free in Where Winds Meet
Early in the game, you get an opportunity to change your facial features for free (without spending a Water Lady Script) by speaking with Cheng Xin in Still Shore. When he asks you whether you’d like to start afresh, choose the “disguise” option to enter the character creation menu and adjust your face, makeup, and hairstyle however you want.
To find Cheng Xin, follow the main quest for a while. During “An Urgent Word,” you will return to Blissful Retreat only to find out that Aunt Han has disappeared. You’ll be sent to the Evercare Clinic, where you must speak with Yaoyao and enter an underground tunnel. This will start the next main quest, “Still Shore.” Follow the path until you enter the dream sequence. Upon your return to the treasure room, you will find Cheng Xin sitting near the door.
Although Cheng Xin offers his services only once, it does seem possible to return later if you don’t want to use the free character change right away.
