Yesterday, fans of the Yakuza games were sent into a panic when it was revealed that Nagoshi Studio, the studio started by series co-creator Toshihiro Nagoshi after he left Ryu Ga Gotoku to make spiritual successor Gang of Dragon, had seemingly deleted its YouTube channel amid greater concerns that parent company NetEase was preparing to pull funding. But today, it…was back up? The missing YouTube channel was discovered by fans posting to Reddit yesterday, who claimed that “the YouTube channel and Gang of Dragon trailer” were both gone. This claim was repeated by a number of others over the course…
Arjun Devraj is fighting the kind of war that isn’t typically won with brute force. The tortured star of Saros, the latest sci-fi shooting odyssey from Returnal developer Housemarque, finds himself locked in a hellish cycle, fighting hostile creatures and rogue robots on a planet where madness is easier to contract than a sunburn. It doesn’t matter how many times Devraj fails to survive a day — because he will fail. It’s as inevitable as the heat death of the universe. All that matters is what happens when he rises from the ashes. The cycle of failure and redemption is…
If you’ve played any Persona game from 3 onwards, you may have found yourself wishing you had a bowl of Hagakure ramen or a meaty stack from Wild-Duck Burger. After playing Persona 3 for the first time myself, I trekked all over Miami to find a proper bowl of ramen to satisfy my own cravings. But thanks to Persona: The Official Cookbook, which is currently on sale for $17 (was $28) at Amazon, those dreams can become an (edible) reality. Persona: The Official Cookbook $17 (was $28) Originally released in September 2025, this cookbook features recipes from Persona 3 Reload,…

Love it or hate it, Crimson Desert launched in March with no small number of issues and unfortunate points of unnecessary friction. Pearl Abyss has been rapidly patching the game to address every pain point in the weeks since. The latest wave of improvements comes by way of Thursday’s 1.04 patch, which adds new difficulty modes and tons of more intricate changes. Players are once again impressed with the range of tweaks. “They just added so much random sh*t, I love it,” one wrote in response to the patch notes. The new easy and hard modes are the main attraction. Easy…
I thought I was done with Stranger Things. Like many others, I was a fanatic about the show early on, but each season was a full step down from the previous one. Season 1 was a perfect 10. Season 2, with the addition of Max and a nearly-as-good story, was a solid “nine.” Season 3 was a respectable “eight” (hurt only by the convoluted Russia stuff). But with seasons 4 and 5, the deterioration was unmistakable thanks to actors who had aged out of their roles, the addition of too many new characters, and stories that seemed to drag, making…
Twitch has proven to be a very popular destination for gaming fans who want to watch other players take on their favorite games. But a new feature currently in testing may open up Twitch as a gaming platform of its own.The feature is called Game Lift, and there’s only a single title currently available for the test. But Twitch’s Reanimal demo works, and it could lead to something transformative for the platform if it catches on.Amazon is experimenting with the ability to play games through Twitch. “Game Lift” is being tested with a 20-minute ReAnimal demo in the USA and…
Hello gentle readers, and welcome to the SwitchArcade Round-Up for August 29th, 2024. We’ve got another big plate of new releases to check out today, and that’s going to be the bulk of the column as it usually is on Thursdays. We also have a relatively hefty list of new sales to delve into, and that’s really about it. We can’t have Nintendo Directs every day, after all. Let’s get to the games! Select New Releases Emio – The Smiling Man: Famicom Detective Club ($49.99) After a few decades without any sequels, Famicom Detective Club is back. This new case…
Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred has, without question, been one of my most anticipated releases of 2026. Diablo 4 is likely my most played game ever by sheer hour count, so it’s easy to see why this expansion is so high up on my list. However many rakes Blizzard has stepped on over the course of the game’s live service, however many seasons or events it botched, I maintain that no other ARPG matches Diablo 4 in either game feel or production value. My memory isn’t that short, however, and I remember how disappointed I was with the game’s first…
As the world steadily crumbles around us, a lot of my friends have been taking refuge in comedy panel shows like Dropout’s Game Changer and Make Some Noise, or British staples like Taskmaster. These are all great and I enjoy them very much. But by winding through the absurd labyrinth of panel show clips on TikTok, I somehow stumbled upon one of the funniest shows I’ve ever seen, one that’s laser-targeted at word/grammar/literature nerds like me. It’s a panel show with a rotating cast of comedians, not unlike those previously listed, but it’s framed around an event that some of us…
