Twin brothers Dante and Vergil have always been two halves of a whole in Devil May Cry. Now, Adi Shankar’s anime adaptation of the beloved video game franchise is returning with its second season on May 12, bringing with it the promise of a tense family reunion. Season 1 of Netflix’s Devil May Cry made some significant departures from the source material, including a switch to a post-modern setting and a radical interpretation of Demons. The official trailer for Devil May Cry season 2 hints at a more measured approach for the upcoming season, but Vergil’s motivations appear to diverge…

It’s been six months since the price of Game Pass Ultimate went up to $30 a month, but under the new Xbox CEO, Asha Sharma, the cost is unexpectedly falling back down to $23 a month. It’s not without caveats–this tier no longer includes Call of Duty entries on their respective launch days–but for the likely millions of players who subscribe to Game Pass Ultimate and don’t play Call of Duty, this is only a good…

The Metro series is finally, officially back with a new installment. 4A Games has just unveiled Metro 2039 to the world, the follow-up to the outstanding Metro Exodus, released all the way back in 2019. 2039 takes an unusual route with its scope, however. Rather than build on the semi-open-world structure of Exodus, the upcoming sequel instead brings the focus back to where it all began: the Metro. To see this content please enable targeting cookies. Did you know that in the first Minions spin-off film released back in 2015, the movie explained why the loud and obnoxious characters who love to help evil people didn’t lend a hand to any leaders during World War I or World War 2? It’s true. But the latest entry in the franchise, Minions & Monsters, is apparently retconning all of this, and now I have questions. This isn’t breaking news. Instead, it’s sort of been known for a bit now and was fully confirmed by Universal and Illumination during last week’s CinemaCon. But I missed that, so when I…

Nintendo’s decision to return to filmmaking after 1993’s The Super Mario Bros. Movie, which was widely panned and bombed at the box office, has been a huge success. After another lucrative weekend in theaters, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie has now made nearly $750 million worldwide, which, combined with the $1.36 billion for 2023’s The Super Mario Bros. Movie, amounts to more than $2 billion.Of course, Nintendo does not keep all of the box office proceeds, as money is distributed among numerous different sources involved with production, but it’s still a staggering sum. The movies have benefitted Nintendo beyond its…

I usually have a low tolerance for “just a little guy” games. But the moment it’s about a bird or small reptile instead of a mouse or dog, I’m afraid you have me cornered. That’s just one of the reasons I’ve had my eye trained on Gecko Gods, a vibrantly colorful adventure about ancient temples, island obstacles and a tiny teal lizard using a personal sailboat. In Gecko Gods, you play as a small reptile washed ashore on a mysterious, serene island. Across this archipelago, you come across a vast network of abandoned temples. Within are statues and shrines seemingly…
