A potential Spider-Man: Brand New Day twist comes to life through new artwork.
Spdrmnkyxxiii shared new artwork recently of what Holland’s titular superhero could look like with six arms in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, a very popular story in the web-crawler’s Marvel canon, following recent rumors. Check it out below:
The rumors that have been floating around over the last few months have claimed that Holland’s hero in the MCU timeline will be going through some evolution with his powers in the Phase 6 installment. Supposedly, the storyline will be dealing with Peter trying to prevent himself to fully mutating into a man-spider.
This has also suggested that Holland’s Spider-Man will be getting organic web-shooters, but that has yet to be confirmed or denied by Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios. To this point, the studios have been keeping plot details under wraps.
The Six Arms Saga and Man-Spider have never been tackled in live-action before, but have been explored through numerous animated Spider-Man properties. Spider-Man: The Animated Series was one of them, where the arc got adapted, while a six-armed variant had a quick appearance in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.
If this ends up being part of the Spider-Man: Brand New Day story in any capacity, it would certainly add a horror element for Holland’s long-time MCU hero that hasn’t been seen before. Hopefully, whenever the first trailer drops for the film, it will finally shed some light on what the plot direction is for the big summer blockbuster.
The Spider-Man: Brand New Day story synopsis that recently emerged also hints at Peter having to deal with the consequences of the past. That could relate to the spider-bite that has never been seen in the MCU, but has been referred to in past films.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day arrives in theaters on July 31.
