Steam Adds 4 New Free Games You Can Officially Keep Forever

Another four free games were just added to the Steam gaming platform, adding to the growing list of freebies that the service provides for gamers to play, or at least add to our backlog of games we are hoping to get around to when we have time. And they aren’t just demos either. Not only do these four games each have unique art styles and cover a variety of genres, but each is a full game (or an early access game) available now.

Of course, this isn’t incredibly surprising, as Steam is often adding free games for its users, many of which are really good considering the price point. As is usually the case, these games don’t have a lot of reviews yet as of the time this article is being written, but at zero dollars, they are easy to pick up and try out for yourself, and hopefully you will give a review for others.

The four games were announced on the Free Steam Games X account, which is a great resource for hearing about freebies as they come up.

Drumroll please… the free games added to Steam are:

Recall Rogue is the only game in this list that isn’t a full release, but rather an early access game. It’s still a playable roguelike deckbuilder, with 100 knowledge decks and 89 enemies, but it is currently in ongoing development, so it may have some unpolished moments. If it looks fun, you should definitely pick it up though, as it is possible that it won’t be free after the game releases in full.

SpellCatcher is an open world animal collecting platformer where players use magic spells to collect rare animals to send back to Big Magic University. Finding these little creatures requires you to explore the enchanted mushroom forest, finding hidden secrets while you search for the colorful animals.

If you’re looking for a retro-style game with 2-player co-op, INKOCHET might be more up your alley. The puzzle game asks you to shoot arrows that can ricochet up to 4 times in order to color in the walls around you, which is also how you find doors to the next areas.

As a cozy gamer who has recently been hooked on the calming gameplay of Librarian: Tidy Up The Arcane Library, which isn’t free but is amazing, I am most interested in Hidden Objects – Items Find, which looks like a colorful cozy experience, clicking through bright worlds to find the hidden objects. With levels like “The Lost Treasures of Pirate Island” and “Detective in Cyberpunk Tokyo” there are lots of incredible worlds to explore, and the scenes are said to also have engaging quests with puzzles too.

Whichever of these games catches your attention, or perhaps all of them did, these free games could be wonderful ways to spend your summer evenings. Even if they don’t end up being your cup of tea, you can’t beat the price of these Steam games at least!
