With Thanksgiving just around the corner, so comes the reveal of some of the balloons that will take part in the 99th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade. KPop Demon Hunters fans are in for a treat, with Derpy Tiger and Sussie both planned to make an appearance. The parade takes place in New York City every year, with different balloons across a range of pop-culture media (varying from SpongeBob to Scooby-Doo and even anime such as Dragon Ball and One Piece) making appearances.
Derpy Tiger and Sussie are two animal mascots that appear in the animated sensation where Huntr/x, a K-pop girl group by day and demon-slaying badasses by night, work hard using their voices to repair the Honmoon and seal the human world off from demons. Much like Huntr/x and the demonic boy group, Saja Boys, Derpy and Sussie are so beloved that they’ll be a memorable sight for fans of all ages at the Thanksgiving Day parade.

It would be an understatement to say that 2025 has been the year of KPop Demon Hunters. Sony Animation’s sensation has shot up to the number one spot to become the most-watched film on Netflix, it’s nabbed 5 Grammy nominations, and the singing voices behind Huntr/x, Ejae (Rumi), Audrey Nuna (Mira), and Rei Ami (Zoey), recently appeared on Jimmy Fallon to give an Honmoon-worthy performance.
Better yet, Ejae, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami will also be making an appearance during the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade. Hopefully they’ll be giving a “Golden” performance.
A new feature film, KPop Demon Hunters 2, is said to be in the works, but it’s likely to hit our screens in 2029. A long wait, but considering how well-loved the original is, we assume fans are more than happy to wait for a sequel befitting the first. Until then, however, we’ll be content with the amazing Derpy and Sussie balloons during the Thanksgiving parade.
