If you didn’t secure a Crunchyroll subscription when it was on sale during Black Friday, we have some bad news, anime fans: The price has officially gone up. Effective immediately, Crunchyroll is raising the monthly cost of its Fan, Mega, and Ultimate subscriptions by $2. The Fan tier jumps from $7.99 to $9.99, Mega increases from $11.99 to $13.99, and Ultimate rises from $15.99 to $17.99 per month. The new prices will take effect in the next billing cycle after March 4.
For a limited time, members can upgrade to the Fan Annual Plan for $66.99 per year, approximately $5.58 per month. This marks the first price increase for Crunchyroll’s U.S. Fan tier since 2019. Prior to this Fan-tier increase, the most recent adjustments occurred in May 2024, when the Mega Fan and Ultimate tiers saw price changes.
Crunchyroll’s Fan tier offers offline downloads on one device, and 5% off select Crunchyroll Store products in the U.S., Canada, and select EMEA regions. The Mega Fan tier includes streaming on up to four devices, offline HD downloads, full access to the Crunchyroll Game Vault, and expanded store perks, including 10% off select items, members-only deals, early sale access, and free U.S. shipping on orders over $50 in eligible regions.
The Ultimate Fan tier builds on these benefits with streaming on up to six devices, offline HD downloads, access to hundreds of manga titles via Crunchyroll Manga in the U.S. and Canada, the Game Vault, 15% off select store items with free shipping in eligible regions, and an exclusive swag bag after 12 consecutive months’ subscription.
Although it tends to remove shows from its platform without notice, Crunchyroll has improved since its initial launch in 2008. The app is more widely available, even aboard commercial airlines. The video player allows viewers to skip the opening and closing credits, and multiple users can now create profiles, helping to prevent accidental spoilers when sharing a Crunchyroll account.
