We’re sure you’re already aware of this, but the next three months are basically one huge shopageddon. Halloween candy, costumes, and decorations lead straight into the biggest food shopping week of the year before Thanksgiving, following immediately by Black Friday and Cyber Week. Normally that would mean either a long, grueling trek of in-person shopping, or online shopping with so many tabs open your laptop cries uncle. Or, you could do it all in one location, either online or in any of over 600 location nationwide, when you get a Sam’s Club membership. Getting access to the all-in-one warehouse giant…
What do Xenomorph eggs feel like? According to the special effects experts who designed them for Alien: Earth, the answer is warm and sticky. Second Skin Studio worked directly with Wētā Workshop and the show’s creators to bring their concepts for various extraterrestrial creatures to life. In the case of the franchise’s iconic Facehugger capsules, this meant slathering the shells with vegetable glycerin. Second Skin founder Sarawut “Tor” Sakthamcharoen tells Polygon it gave the eggs a “wet, organic look.” Sakthamcharoen and his colleague Sarinnaree “Honey” Khamaiumcharean worked on many of the monstrous beings in Alien: Earth, including a monstrous ticks,…
Castlevania: Curse of Darkness (PS2/Xbox)Lament of Innocence built up a ton of goodwill for being the Castlevania game to finally put the series on solid ground in the 3D space, so, it’s understandable why folks recoiled a bit at its follow-up largely tossing out most of Castlevania tradition for something that, honestly, doesn’t much resemble anything in the series, before or after. Time has actually been kinder to Curse than expected though. Yes, it’s still kind of an oddball as a Castlevania title–ironically, there’s a lot of this game in what eventually became Bloodstained–but if you can put aside expectations…
I have not played the entirety of the Battlefield 6 single-player campaign yet, but I played enough to have a solid guess as to what the high-level goals for it were. It wasn’t until I got a chance to speak to some of the people behind it that my suspicions were validated. It’s also very easy to guess that some of the same people who get excited about playing the campaign mode in yearly Call of Duty releases likely won’t be moved by what Battlefield 6 is offering there, and perhaps that’s fine. After playing three missions of the Battlefield…
Star Wars remains LEGO’s most coveted license with countless sets from the franchise earning exceptional ratings from builders worldwide. The adorable R2-D2 droid exemplifies this success perfectly and boasts a 4.9 out of 5 stars across thousands of reviews. By fortunate timing, this set has just dropped to an all-time low on Amazon, and it’s flying off the shelves: At $79 down from its usual $99 price, this 1,050-piece building experience delivers both a satisfying construction project and a display piece that captures one of cinema’s most iconic characters in brick form. Following Microsoft’s announcement that it has overhauled its Game Pass tiers, the company has clarified what the change means for players who still have an Xbox Game Pass for Console subscription active after being grandfathered into the plan last year. Xbox confirms that anyone who currently has a legacy Console subscription and recurring payments turned on will not be impacted by the pricing changes. Earlier this week, Xbox revealed that Xbox Game Pass Ultimate will now cost $29.99 a month in a controversial move for subscribers. That change comes alongside two renamed tiers, Premium and Essential, which switch up the…

Today is a big day for Genshin Impact and its players. Not only does it see the start of the second phase of the massive Version Luna I update (previously Version 6.0), the game is also kicking off celebrations in honour of last Sunday’s fifth anniversary of its initial launch way back on September 28th, 2020 (where did the time go?). Whether you’ve been away for a while, or you’re pretty much done with most of the content that arrived with Luna I, now is a great time to come back. Thanks to its excellent job system, there are hundreds of abilities your characters can learn in Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles. Some of them are trash. Some of them are fun but mid. Here are the godlike ones. Abilities in Final Fantasy Tactics come in four types: action, reaction, support, and movement. Below I’ve listed the best abilities to unlock in the latter three categories. These are useful no matter what Job or action abilities you’re rocking. If you want my advice for action abilities, you should prioritize the Monk’s Chakra and Revive, White Mage’s Raise and Holy, Black…
Lucile Hadžihalilović doesn’t make horror films in a traditional sense, though her neo-noir body-horror movie Earwig may come closest. But while The Ice Tower isn’t body horror, it still may be one of 2025’s creepiest films. Fans of David Lynch and Alfred Hitchcock should go gaga — and not just because of its eerie bird attack. (Though that element doesn’t hurt.) Hadžihalilović’s delicate touch makes The Ice Tower play like a fairy tale: A 15-year-old girl named Jeanne, played by newcomer Clara Pacini, runs away from her orphanage and slips into a film set where a re-imagining of Hans Christian…
