In most extraction shooters, as well as a number of online survival games, players are all-too-familiar with the necessary evil known as a global wipe, in which everyone’s inventory and stats get reset to start all players off again on the same footing. It can sting a bit, but it helps balance out the game for newcomers, as folks who’ve been playing for years could otherwise build up a virtually limitless stockpile of goodies to maintain supremacy. Upcoming PvPvE extraction shooter Arc Raiders, however, has some different ideas on how to implement this in a way that won’t cost everyone…
It’s debatable how much the term “gaslighting” can be applied to the Netflix thriller The Woman in Cabin 10. On a scale from a note-perfect summoning of the 1944 film Gaslight (which involves a scheming man manipulating his new wife into thinking she’s crazy) to just using the word to describe garden-variety lying, it falls somewhere in the middle. But it’s clearly intended to recall classics like Gaslight and more conspiracy-minded descendants — mysteries like Flightplan or Breakdown, where the search for a missing person is complicated by others insisting the person was never there to begin with. On this…

The 512GB model is discounted to $88.47 (was $120), while the 1TB model is up for grabs for $158 (was $220). Outside of the officially licensed Samsung microSD Express, the Lexar Play Pro has been the most popular microSD Express Card on AmazonUp until recently, Walmart had the best deals for 512GB microSD Express Cards, but the retailer has raised the price on the Onn brand 512GB Express from $65.77…
Battlefield 6 is one of the rare triple-A games whose developers were happy to let the public – some of them, at least – play the game well ahead of its release. This wasn’t as part of a beta/demo three weeks from launch; it was a conscious effort to get the community involved months in advance, and give the developers enough time to actually iterate and implement whatever feedback they felt would help make a better game. Understandably, that experiment was strictly limited to the game’s multiplayer mode, which ends up making Battlefield 6’s campaign its most mysterious – and…
Skateboarding games are a hell of a good time and EA’s recent skate, the free-to-play title aiming to reboot EA’s once-cherished series, is trying to lure folks back into the thrills of digital ollies and kickflips. And because it’s a free-to-play game from a AAA publisher in 2025, it’s got microtransactions and seasons and all that stuff. While we mostly tolerate this silliness in games nowadays, some stuff is just too expensive and too ugly to pass without comment. Instead of throwing money at the screen for a skin of space zombie-stomper Isaac Clarke from Dead Space, fans of skate…
Crimson Dye Beach in Ghost of Yōtei is home to multiple red-stained pieces of fabric. Typically, when you visit a location named after a dye, you’ll find a merchant who sells masks and armor dyes in specific colors, but, at Crimson Dye Beach, there is no merchant in sight. However, if you take a closer look, you’ll notice a boat off in the distance that has to be carrying some crimson-colored goodies. Here’s how to call in the merchant’s ship at the Crimson Dye Beach in Ghost of Yōtei. How to call the merchant’s boat at Crimson Dye Beach Graphic:…
GameSpot may receive revenue from affiliate and advertising partnerships for sharing this content and from purchases through links. It can be difficult to discern the best Minecraft mods with so many to choose from. Mojang’s blocky sandbox game has now been charming players around the world for nearly two decades, standing strong as the best-selling game of all time. If you’re a longtime player, though, you may feel as though you’re running out of content to enjoy in vanilla Minecraft. One can only enjoy so much crafting, exploring, farming, and mining in the same biomes with the same features before…
Chinese developer MiHoYo (HoYoverse) has officially unveiled a new game, its first life sim adventure. It’s called Petit Planet, and it’s the second new announcement in a month, following on from the studio’s Pokemon-like, Honkai: Nexus Anima. Much like Nexus Anima, Petit Planet is very much taking cues from established games to help the developer enter a new genre, this time being the cozy life sim genre of games like Animal Crossing, and The Sims. MiHoYo describes Petit Planet as a “cosmic life simulation”, but it very much has Animal Crossing vibes. The announcement press release even teases how players…
Ejae, Rei Ami, and Audrey Nuna are set to perform on The Tonight Show in just a few hours, which will mark the trio’s first live performance as Huntr/x, the pop stars from KPop Demon Hunters. (At least, not counting a cameo in a skit during this weekend’s Saturday Night Live in which they didn’t even perform a full song.) But in advance of that debut performance later tonight, the band has released a new song with no fanfare, one that wasn’t featured in the Netflix musical. Or at least that’s what Spotify is currently indicating. The Huntr/x Spotify account posted…
Fortnite is more than just a battle royale game: It’s also a platform that hosts a wide swath of player-created experiences, much like Roblox does. Developer Epic Games encourages fans to make islands by providing a user-friendly Unreal Editor as well as an engagement-based creator program. It’s big business, too. Every year, Epic pays out millions of dollars to the most popular map creators. But at least two developers tried to trick Epic Games into believing their maps were much more successful than they actually were, the Fortnite maker says. Now, Epic Games is pursuing legal action. “Botting” is a…
