Cable Boy’s Something In My Head

Cable Boy are a five-piece indie rock band from Dublin, Ireland, known for their blend of shoegaze, indie, and “goth disco” textures—a slightly heavier, mood-driven sound that balances ethereal atmospheres with propulsive energy. Originally forming with roots in dreamy indie before expanding their sonic palette post-2020, the band have built momentum through strong live shows, festival appearances, and a steady stream of singles that hint at both introspection and physical intensity. Their lineup includes Semilore Olusa (vocals), Liam Murray (bass), Corneille Tshibasu (keys), Jason Aikhionbare (guitar) and Fionn McLoughlin (drums).

“Something In My Head” is the band’s latest single and the lead preview from their upcoming debut album Forever (due 17 April 2026).  Musically, the track juxtaposes hypnotic guitar lines, rhythmic intensity, and a detached vocal delivery, creating a tension between calm and unrest that mirrors its lyrical themes. According to the band, the song reflects the modern experience of absorbing overwhelming and distressing news through social media, feeling both aware and powerless while processing that constant flow.  This gives the song a conflicted emotional core—caught between observation and action—while its energetic music helps push that tension into something visceral and compelling.
