Developed by Another Angle Games and published by Owlcat Games, this is a turn-based RPG that is inspired by feudal Japan, though it features both magic and machines. The title allows you to assemble a team from a roster of characters who are designed to face both yokai and steampunk machinery.
The game will portray the country’s division between holding onto its heritage and embracing modernization, backed by the British East Nippon Company. Shadow of the Road has a branching narrative, as your choices will help mold the path and the outcome of the story. This will be applied to the larger scale and down to characters’ stories, too. In a sense, it seems to draw from the choice system seen in Baldur’s Gate 3, though obviously applied to its own story arc.
