The facelifted Jeep Avenger has been unveiled in full in Europe two weeks after the first official images were revealed in Brazil.
As is often the case, the biggest exterior change has taken place up front, where there’s a new bumper with a slightly sharper design.
On all variants, the black plastic clad portion has expanded, and now encompasses the functional air intake slat that lives below the company’s signature seven-slot grille. All-wheel drive 4xe models are distinguished by red highlights, and black plastic in the section between the upper and lower fascia.
The grille has crisper surfacing, and no longer features a silver frame around each slot. Were it not for the white line on the upper section of each slot, it would actually be hard in poor light to discern the seven slots.
The top section of the grille can be lit up on higher trim levels, making the Avenger the first Jeep to feature an illuminated grille. Upscale variants gain matrix LED headlights, and a 360-degree camera system.
There’s also redesigned 17- and 18-inch alloy wheels, and the centre caps now feature a stylised profile sketch of the original Willys Jeep instead of the brand’s word mark.
On the inside Jeep has upped the “perception of quality” with softer materials for the door panels, a padded insert on the lower dashboard, a red panel and rubber switch for the terrain selector, and more premium cloth and vinyl upholstery options.
All-wheel drive 4xe models also gain washable green-colour trim. The infotainment system looks unchanged, and features a 10.25-inch touchscreen in the middle of the dashboard with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support.
Two new colours (Forest and Bamboo) have been added to the paint options alongside Granite, Ruby, Snow, Storm and Volcano.
At the bottom of the Avenger’s drivetrain offerings is a new 74kW/205Nm 1.2-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine fitted with a six-speed manual transmission. Jeep is also keen to point out the 1.2-litre turbo’s “superior durability” thanks to its timing chain, and “robust” new engine block, piston and heads.
For Europe, the other drivetrain offerings are unchanged. One step up the ladder is a 81kW mild hybrid with the 1.2-litre turbo mated to a six-speed dual-clutch transmission with a built-in electric motor and 0.9kWh lithium-ion battery.
The 4xe takes this mild hybrid setup and adds an electric motor to the rear axle, bumping total output to 108kW. At the top of the pile is all the all-electric model that has a 115kW motor driving the front wheels, which is fed by a 54kWh battery pack for a WLTP range of around 400km.
Since going into production in Poland in 2023, the Avenger has done decent numbers with 270,000 sold so far. While it holds the crown as Italy’s best-selling SUV, the story in Australia is quite different with Jeep selling just 97 examples in 2025.
At present, the Avenger is sold Down Under purely as an EV. Thanks to promotional pricing, the Avenger starts at $40,000 drive-away, a far cry from the initial launch price of $53,990 before on-road costs.
It’s unknown if or when the revised Avenger will arrive in Australia, and whether the range will expand to include petrol engines.
