YouTube TV Just Made It Easier to Try Live TV Without Commitment

Live TV streaming isn’t exactly cheap anymore, and most services have quietly dropped free trials altogether. YouTube TV is going the opposite direction. With its new promotion aimed at encouraging new users to try YouTube TV before committing, Google has created an opportunity for many users who may have been interested but unsure about the service.

This promotion offers users extended time to explore YouTube TV at a greatly reduced rate over what they would have paid previously. If you’re considering YouTube TV, this is an excellent opportunity to see just how much of an investment it actually is.

The new promotional offer includes an additional 10 days of free access for trying it out. While this interval is only three days longer than the previously offered seven-day trial at YouTube TV, it is still enough time to let someone evaluate the service for compatibility with their everyday life.

Once the trial ends, the deal gets better. New subscribers will pay $59.99 per month for their first two months, down from YouTube TV’s regular $82.99 monthly price. Those are savings of $23 per month, or $46 total, before the plan reverts to full price.

After those first two discounted months, the subscription automatically renews at the standard rate unless you cancel. There’s no contract, and users can cancel during the trial or at any time after without being charged beyond the current billing period.

There is one major limitation. The offer is available only to Google accounts that have never subscribed to YouTube TV. That includes anyone who previously used a free trial, even if they never became a paying customer.

During sign-up, users must enter a valid payment method, but they won’t be charged until the 10-day trial ends. From there, the discounted rate applies to the YouTube TV base plan for two months.

The promotion is already live in the U.S. and will remain available until March 17, 2026, so this isn’t a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it deal — but it’s still aimed squarely at first-time users.

Throughout its history, YouTube TV has experienced fluctuations in pricing and occasional conflicts between suppliers over channel availability; however, it still provides one of the best overall experiences for live television streaming. It currently includes over 80 channels from the most prominent cable and broadcast networks, as well as local programming and shows.

One of its most popular features is unlimited cloud DVR, which lets users record as much content as they want without worrying about storage limits. For sports fans, Multiview makes it easy to watch multiple games at once — a big plus with March Madness right around the corner.

YouTube TV also allows streaming on up to three devices at the same time, including devices outside your household. While many streaming services have cracked down hard on account sharing, YouTube TV’s rules are still relatively flexible, which makes it easier for families or shared accounts to use.

This discount comes as YouTube TV prepares for bigger changes down the road. Google has already announced plans to introduce genre-based channel bundles in 2026, which could give users more control over what they pay for. In the meantime, this promotion gives new subscribers a low-pressure way to explore the service and see if it’s worth keeping long-term. It also stands out in a crowded market where most live TV streamers no longer offer free trials.

For anyone who’s been hesitant to jump in because of the price, this deal lowers the barrier just enough to make YouTube TV easier to try — without locking users into anything.

If you’ve been on the fence, this is about as low-risk as YouTube TV gets. Ten days is plenty of time to test the channel lineup, try out the DVR, and see how often you actually use it. The two-month discount helps ease the sticker shock if you decide to stay a little longer.

YouTube TV still isn’t cheap, and it won’t be for everyone. But with a longer free trial and a temporary price cut, it’s offering new users a rare chance to try live TV without feeling stuck right away.
