Samsung is reportedly readying a Brain Health feature to check for early signs of dementia

    • Samsung is said to be developing a Brain Health feature
    • It would watch out for the early indicators of dementia
    • We should hear more about it in the next couple of weeks

Our smartphones are capable of tracking a whole host of stats and pieces of information about us, and Samsung is apparently going to add something new to the mix: a Brain Health feature that looks out for early signs of dementia.

We don’t know too much about this yet, as Samsung hasn’t officially announced it, but according to a report on Chosun Biz (via Android Authority), the Brain Health service is going to be unveiled at the CES 2026 show that starts on Tuesday, January 6.

As per the report, Brain Health will keep tabs on your voice, gait, and sleep patterns to watch for indicators of cognitive decline. Data will apparently be gathered both by your phone and by any Samsung wearable devices you’ve got.

Clinical validation is apparently in the pipeline for this, though Brain Health won’t be able to definitively say whether or not you’re at risk of dementia – only that you may be showing some signs of it that you should discuss with your doctor.

The report says Brain Health will also include “improvement and prevention functions” to keep your brain sharp and lower the chances of dementia developing in the future. A brain training program will apparently be included, for example.

All of the sensitive data will be protected by Samsung Knox security, according to Chosun Biz, and data will be managed locally rather than being sent to the cloud. It seems likely that it’ll work in tandem with what Samsung Health already offers.

While the prospect of getting dementia isn’t something any of us want to think about, it happens – and Brain Health sounds as though it would be a useful way of detecting it early, as well as exploring ways to keep cognitive decline at bay.
