Gran Turismo 7 Is Getting One of Its Biggest Updates Ever

It’s been over three years since the latest Gran Turismo release on PlayStation 5, and Polyphony Digital has routinely delivered updates and downloadable content since then. Today, though, the studio is preparing to launch one of its biggest updates so far—and it’ll cost you.

The Power Pack DLC launches on December 4, 2025, bringing some significant new features. In addition to 50 new races and 24-hour endurance races, the latest update will introduce the newest version of the game’s advanced AI racers called Gran Turismo Sophy 3.0. The new AI is exclusive to DLC.

Players will be able to battle in full race seasons that include practice and qualifying sessions before the main event. Races are spread across six themes that are “inspired by countries and car culture around the world.” They include Europe, Historic Cars, and the Nürburgring.

In addition to the race events and upgraded AI competitors, the pack also includes 5 million in-game credits, which costs over $40 in real-world money to acquire as an add-on. Polyphony Digital hasn’t released the content pack’s pricing, but it could be expensive considering the upgraded AI and pre-race modes.

Also arriving this December to the game is the free Spec III update announced in September. It includes two new tracks— Yas Marina Circuit, Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve—eight new cars, a new opening movie, Dunlop tires, and more. The game has received consistent updates, expanding the list of cars and tracks.

Gran Turismo 7 has sold over 100 million copies as of this September. The first game in the franchise went on sale in 1997 for the original PlayStation. Since then, Polyphony Digital has launched several installments, including ones like 2017’s Gran Turismo Sport.

The studio launched a free-to-play version last year called My First Gran Turismo. It was a version of the game designed “with no limits on age or driving skill” to broaden the game’s appeal and hopefully attract new players.
