YouTube TV has notified subscribers that a $20 credit is heading their way in light of its ongoing standoff with Disney, which has resulted in numerous channels going dark on the platform, including ESPN, ABC News and Disney Channel. In an email to subscribers, the YouTube TV Team said subscribers should expect to see an email in the coming days about the credit, which will be applied to their next bill after it’s redeemed.”We know it’s been disappointing to lose Disney content, and we want you to know we deeply appreciate your patience,” the email said. The Hallmark Channel’s Countdown to Christmas is an annual tradition that only seems to get bigger and more robust with every passing year. The holiday-themed slate of shows and movies typically begins in October — before Halloween is even over, the audacity! — and runs for more than two months, offering holiday-themed romantic comedies, frosty winter adventures, festive competition shows and murder mysteries. (Murders just go down easier when they’re Christmas-themed.) The Countdown to Christmas is already underway, but there are still dozens of great shows and movies to watch between now and Dec. 25. While the Hallmark Channel comes standard…

PNY microSD Express Card: reviewThe PNY microSD Express Card is one of the fastest Nintendo Switch 2 cards that I’ve tested. In my benchmarks, the 256GB model achieved a staggering 712.42MB/s write speed – blowing past the competition and coming impressively close to the manufacturer’s claimed 750MB/s performance. It also excels when it comes to read speed, actually achieving above the claimed 890MB/s with 893.74MB/s in my testing. One of the world’s most ruthless and advanced hacking groups, the Russian state-controlled Sandworm, launched a series of destructive cyberattacks in the country’s ongoing war against neighboring Ukraine, researchers reported Thursday. In April, the group targeted a Ukrainian university with two wipers, a form of malware that aims to permanently destroy sensitive data and often the infrastructure storing it. One wiper, tracked under the name Sting, targeted fleets of Windows computers by scheduling a task named DavaniGulyashaSdeshka, a phrase derived from Russian slang that loosely translates to “eat some goulash,” researchers from ESET said. The other wiper is tracked as Zerlot.…

The update just rolled out to the public after first being tested among beta users. With this update, pages have been widened to 1200 pixels, which Valve says “felt like a good balance where we can show more content on…

Hisense U75QG: Two-minute reviewThe Hisense U75QG is a solid performer that packs a lot of features in for the price. Typically, flagship TVs are the ones that get the most attention, but people usually aren’t buying the best of the best from any brand. Instead, buying considerations usually fall to midrange TVs like this one.The Hisense U75QG is a mini-LED display that delivers brightness we generally don’t see from…
The ASUS RT-BE58 Go, first announced at CES 2025, is now available. Among other things, the new router makes Wi-Fi 7 accessible even when you’re out and about. Most importantly, as an upgrade to the RT-AX57 Go, it comes with a familiar feature set as standard on an ASUS router—you will not need to learn any new tricks to make it work. In more ways than one, it’s the rival to the TL-WR3602BE, and on this front, it offers more features, plus it’s not a TP-Link, a brand that’s been facing the uncertainty of a US government ban. This preview…
The next time you encounter an unusually polite reply on social media, you might want to check twice. It could be an AI model trying (and failing) to blend in with the crowd. On Wednesday, researchers from the University of Zurich, University of Amsterdam, Duke University, and New York University released a study revealing that AI models remain easily distinguishable from humans in social media conversations, with overly friendly emotional tone serving as the most persistent giveaway. The research, which tested nine open-weight models across Twitter/X, Bluesky, and Reddit, found that classifiers developed by the researchers detected AI-generated replies with…
Data can paint a much starker contrast than words alone, and US Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) appears to get that. On Friday, her office published numbers on Big Tech’s tax breaks in Republicans’ “Big Beautiful Bill.” When compared with the benefits those sums could have provided for working families, it helps to fortify what some might otherwise dismiss as run-of-the-mill rhetoric.According to Sen. Warren, the bill’s tax breaks for Microsoft alone will total $12.5 billion in 2026. When compared with the average cost of SNAP benefits, that sum could have provided food assistance to 5.2 million people. Or, it could…
