Apple released iOS 26.4.1 on April 8, about two weeks after the company pushed out iOS 26.4. While that update was packed with features, like new emoji and video podcasts, the latest update is much smaller. Apple writes iOS 26.4.1 is focused on bug fixes. Plus, according to an Apple support document, the update will automatically enable the security feature Stolen Device Protection on some iPhones. You can download iOS 26.4.1 now by going to Settings and tapping General. Next, select Software Update, tap Update Now and follow the prompts on your screen.”This update provides bug fixes for your iPhone,” Apple…

Websites for some of the world’s most prestigious universities are serving explicit porn and malicious content after scammers exploited the shoddy record-keeping of the site administrators, a researcher found recently. The sites included berkeley.edu, columbia.edu, and washu.edu, the official domains for the University of California, Berkeley, Columbia University, and Washington University in St. Louis. Subdomains such as hXXps://causal.stat.berkeley.edu/ymy/video/xxx-porn-girl-and-boy-ej5210.html, hXXps://conversion-dev.svc.cul.columbia[.]edu/brazzers-gym-porn, and hXXps://provost.washu.edu/app/uploads/formidable/6/dmkcsex-10.pdf. All deliver explicit pornography and, in at least one case, a scam site falsely claiming a visitor’s computer is infected and advising the visitor to pay a fee for the non-existent malware to be removed. In all, researcher Alex…
Now that Artemis II is all wrapped up, NASA has begun its post-game performance analyses of all the systems that worked together to get four astronauts safely to the moon and back earlier this month. In addition to taking humans farther than ever before, Artemis II served as a crucial test flight for upcoming crewed missions that are planned for as soon as 2027 and 2028, the latter being NASA’s ambitious target for landing astronauts on the lunar surface. So far, the Orion spacecraft and the SLS rocket seem to have fared pretty well.NASA says its initial assessments of the…

The headline says it. It’s perfectly fine to feel attached to that almost-decade-old Wi-Fi 6 router. In fact, it’s a relevant Wi-Fi standard for at least the next half-decade, possibly longer. The gist is that, practically speaking, it’s currently the prime time for a Wi-Fi 6 access point—as a standalone unit or integrated into a router or mesh system. That’s, of course, if you don’t have a good reason to replace your current router. Let’s dig in! Dong’s note: I first published this post on July 11, 2024, and updated it on April 24, 2026, to add relevant information. Related stories…
There is no practical benefit for Kyber developers to have chosen a PQC key-exchange algorithm. The Kyber ransom note gives victims one week to respond. Quantum computers capable of running Shor’s algorithm—the series of mathematical equations that allow the breakage of RSA and ECC (elliptic curve cryptography)—are, at a minimum, three years away and likely much further. A Kyber variant that targets systems running VMware, meanwhile, claims to use ML-KEM as well. Rapid7 said its look under the hood revealed that, in fact, it uses RSA with 4096-bit keys, a strength that will take even longer for Shor’s algorithm to break.…
Porsche has announced an electric version of its popular Cayenne Coupé and it could be the company’s most powerful vehicle ever — either ICE or electric. Mechanically, the Cayenne Coupé Electric is nearly identical to the Cayenne Electric but the body is substantially sleeker for improved range and performance. While the front end of the Coupé looks much the same as the Cayenne Electric, the back is giving off BMW X-series vibes in a big way. Porsche says that bulbous rear makes the new model more aerodynamic and thus efficient, with a drag coefficient of just 0.23. It also sits nearly…
