Last Tuesday, Microsoft patched a vulnerability it rated as max critical in its M365 Copilot AI platform. On Monday, the researchers who discovered the vulnerability and reported it to Microsoft revealed how their proof-of-concept exploit could retrieve 2FA codes and other sensitive data from emails accessible to Copilot. Microsoft and other LLM providers have been unable to prevent their products from complying with malicious requests to reveal data. The root cause: AI bots are unable to distinguish between instructions provided by users and those snuck into third-party content the models are summarizing, drafting responses to, or using to perform other…

Anything released after 2028 will still be digital-only. frantic00/Shutterstock Sony’s move to abandon physical game discs may have elicited the “Everyone disliked that” response from the gaming world, but there’s a small consolation for game developers. As reported by Game File, Sony shared a private message to PlayStation developers and publishers that said they “will still be able to place re-orders for existing PlayStation disc games.” Sony’s post on the PlayStation blog mentioned that its discontinuation of physical game discs would have “no impact on games that already released, or will be releasing, prior to January 2028 in…

We’re big fans of NotebookLM around here, so much so that it received our Editor’s Choice Award. But it’s not the only AI tool out there that can synthesize your data to better understand it. In fact, there are a lot of options out there, it’s just that none are quite as approachable as NotebookLM.  Maybe you need a more specific type of output, or just don’t want Google handling your data. Not all of the following tools have nifty features like the Audio or Video Overviews that helped give NotebookLM its reputation today. Instead, they may offer a more…

The clock is ticking for Windows and Linux users to update cryptographic keys that protect their systems against firmware-based UEFI infections, a pernicious form of malware that loads before operating system and anti-malware protections start. Beginning June 24, three certificates that cryptographically verify that each piece of firmware and software that loads during system boot will expire. The Microsoft-signed certificates are the linchpins of Secure Boot, a Microsoft-designed chain of trust. Secure Boot checks the digital signatures of all firmware that loads during system startup to ensure it originates from a trusted provider, such as the manufacturer of the motherboard…

The company’s robotaxi roadmap mentions future expansions to Orlando and Tampa. Miami residents are getting another option for autonomous taxi services, at least for those who live in a specific portion of the Floridian city. As posted on X, Tesla has expanded its Robotaxi service to a small section of West Miami. Like we saw with the robotaxi rollout for Dallas and Houston earlier this year, Tesla is limiting its initial Miami availability to outside of the busy downtown. However, customers were already seen riding in unsupervised Tesla robotaxis in videos circulating on X. Notably, the Teslas are seen operating…

The SANDISK Optimus GX 7100M, unveiled during CES 2026 and recently made available, is the first internal NVMe SSD from Sandisk I’ve had my hands on since the company introduced its new “SANDISK Optimus” branding in January 2026, replacing Western Digital’s legacy WD Black and WD Blue series. Tip In March 2025, Western Digital (WD) split off SanDisk as a separate company, which now goes by “Sandisk”. The move means WD retains all hard platter-based products (hard drives), including those with “SanDisk” in their model names. Similarly, Sandisk takes over all NAND-based products — SSDs, memory cards, and so on…

Researchers have found a never-before-seen piece of macOS malware that combines a series of clever tradecraft to infect Macs with stealthy, custom-developed credential-stealing code. The malware is delivered in two stages. The first is distributed in a disk image that masquerades as Maccy, a clipboard manager for Macs. It’s compiled as AppleScript that is notable for the way it delivers the second stage. The malware is named PamStealer because the Rust-written infostealer uses the Pluggable Authentication Modules interface built into macOS to validate the target’s login password before sending it to an attacker-controlled server. A quieter execution chain The use…
