The latest big content update has been revealed for HoYoverse’s breakout game, Genshin Impact. Version Luna 5, which has the unusually long and needlessly layered title — Song of the Welkin Moon: Variation – Homeward, He Who Caught the Wind — is set to arrive February 25. This one is a bit of a nostalgia play, taking everyone back to Mondstadt, the place where you may remember taking your first steps. And, as with any good return to the ol’ hunting grounds, come familiar characters, too. To see this content please enable targeting cookies. Manage cookie settings The big new…

Josh Sobel, who was formerly a tech artist and rigger on live-service shooter Highguard, posted a lengthy, eye-opening blog about his time working on the free-to-play FPS that has struggled since launching last month on consoles and PC.  Sobel also talks about the response it got after its reveal and the harassment he suffered. And then you’ve got Downtown Ryukyu and the (admittedly much smaller) Morning Glory Orphanage to learn the layout of as well. Even if you’re familiar with the original…

This one really stings as there was a lot of unreleased content…

I’ve never seen patch notes issued for a press release before, but Discord just did exactly that. The company has updated the language around its new age-gating rules to make clear that the “vast majority” of users have nothing to worry about because the company’s AI will be able to accurately estimate their age and bypass the controversial new verification procedures rolling out over the next few months. It’s been a rough 24 hours for Discord, the modern hub for gaming conversations online. The company revealed new age verification requirements on February 9 that would lock users out of certain…
