If you read Kotaku even semi-regularly, you already know that Xbox has been in a weird spot for some time now. And with today’s news that both Xbox boss Phil Spencer and President Sarah Bond are leaving and the new head of the brand will be a former Meta exec who previously lead Microsoft’s AI division, I think it’s time to call it. Xbox is dead. Time of death: February 20, 2026. This death is far from sudden or surprising. If anything, we’ve all seen it coming for a while now. Reading the news about Xbox often felt like checking…

On February 10, filmmaker Ruairí Robinson made a bold claim on X. “This was a 2 line prompt in seedance 2. If the hollywood is cooked guys are right maybe the hollywood is cooked guys are cooked too idk,” he wrote. The post was accompanied by a video of Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt performing a fight scene together. The clip gained attention for its apparent sophistication; it appeared well-choreographed, competently shot, and appropriately lit, which are all elements that other AI video tools have struggled to convincingly replicate. If Robinson’s claim was true, this was a significant leap forward…
Over the past decade, Don’t Nod has explored the soul-sucking worlds of 17th-century America, post-WWI London, dystopian Paris, and a high school in the Pacific Northwest. Earth, in this version of the future, has started to become uninhabitable. The European Space Agency sends astronauts to the edges of the solar system to explore its ninth planet — an ice-covered celestial body called Persephone, recently discovered by astronomers.…
