Perfect for investors, AI is everything and nothing simultaneously. It is a technology that will revolutionize the world, upend the workforce, but also can’t handle working a shift at a Taco Bell drive-thru. Backlash to it is growing vast and deep, as popularity for the emerging tech continues to dwindle in polling. And yet it perseveres, not just from parties financially invested in it, but young people who feel they have no other choice. In a report from Janus Rose at The Verge, some of the lowest approval for AI use is coming from the same people who use it…
When it comes to movies about witches, there are several strong contenders for best entry in the subgenre. From classics like Hocus Pocus and Practical Magic to ironic entries in the canon like The Love Witch to downright terrifying films like The Witch to the hallucinatory horror of Suspiria. But one film arguably beats out all the rest with its portrayal of female adolescence through the filter of a witchy thrills. As of May 3, director Andrew Fleming’s anthem for misfits, The Craft, has turned 30. Following four teen girls who become friends through witchcraft before a Lord of the…
Resident Evil 6 didn’t go over very well with players when it was released in 2012, but director Zach Cregger and production designer Tom Hammock apparently saw something in the game worth revisiting while creating the upcoming Resident Evil reboot film.During a set visit attended by GamesRadar, Hammock noted that creatures from Resident Evil 6 will appear in the film. He also added that the team pulled some inspiration from Resident Evil 4 as well.”You’ll see a lot of Resident Evil 4, Resident Evil 6,” said Hammock. “Zach and I went through and pulled specific creature elements that we like…
When Square Enix released the monster collecting RPG Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince on Switch last year, I loved my time with it. It had technical issues, but the charm and gameplay loop elevated it well beyond other Dragon Quest spinoffs on the platform bringing up to the same level as the superb Dragon Quest Builders 2. I always expected Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince to be ported to PC soon after just like Dragon Quest Treasures, but I didn’t even consider it hitting mobile anytime soon. Today, Square Enix announced that the Switch-exclusive Dragon Quest Monsters: The…
For many years the scariest thing about solitaire on your computer was the creepy pixelated castle deck art Susan Kare made for Windows 3.0. Or maybe that version Donald Rumsfeld put on the app store a decade ago. Regardless, the matter is settled now. A new meta-horror game from the creators of Home Safety Hotline is not only the most frightful solitaire yet, it’s the most forbidden. In Forbidden Solitaire, you’ve come into possession of some controversial ‘90s software. A gnarly, gory fantasy card game you recall spooking you as a kid, but never encountering beyond magazine ads. At first…
A newly revealed version of The One Ring card for Magic: The Gathering’s upcoming crossover with The Hobbit drew criticism from within the game’s own artist community, ultimately revealing that the artist had copied the work of another. The One Ring originally appeared as the headliner card in 2023’s The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-earth set with several different art treatments, and as revealed during a MagicCon: Las Vegas 2026 panel on Friday, it will be reprinted for The Hobbit. That reprint credits artist Dan Frazier for the illustration, which depicts the One Ring floating at an angle…
Last month, SNK revealed that Kenshiro, star of Fist of the North Star, would be the final Season 2 DLC character for Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves in June. However, that left May unspoken for, and fans were wondering who would fill the void.Today, during a special presentation at Evo Japan, SNK unveiled the next DLC character would be another crossover character, but this time from a franchise in SNK’s portfolio: Mr. Karate, the mask-wearing martial artist from Art of Fighting, is next up–but this Mr. Karate is different from the one we’ve seen before. In previous SNK fighting…

GameStop, the struggling brick-and-mortar video game retailer with a market value of about $12 billion, wants to buy eBay, an e-commerce company worth around $46 billion. This comes from a Wall Street Journal report which says that GameStop is quietly building up a stake in eBay shares in preparation for an offer that could come by the end of this month. The report does not suggest what an offer would look like or how it would be received, though a source speaking to The WSJ suggested that GameStop CEO Ryan Cohen could take the offer directly to eBay’s shareholders if the company’s…
Dragons love their treasure hoards, but no dragon cherishes their trove more than Smaug from The Hobbit. At MagicCon: Las Vegas 2026, Wizards of the Coast finally revealed the first few cards from the upcoming set, due out Aug. 14, and the headliner is Smaug the Magnificent. Fittingly, the card is super-powerful, but when you play it alongside one particular dragon that’s five years old, things can very quickly spiral out of control. Smaug the Magnificent comes in three variants: a mythic rare in the main set, a borderless version with a dragon hoard frame, and a gleaming gold headliner…
