Ford F-150 Lightning production will remain paused for the foreseeable future. Porsche’s struggles in 2025 are no secret. In July, outgoing CEO Oliver Blume acknowledged that the company is facing significant challenges amid the global EV downturn. Shipments fell by six percent in the first half of the year, prompting the German automaker to announce plans to cut up to 1,900 jobs by 2029. Those struggles are well-reflected in the company’s recent financial statements. The design of a smaller BYD dual-cab ute has been exposed in a patent application filed with the European Union Property Office after it was previously caught wrapped in camouflage – suggesting it could be a pickup version of the Sealion 6 mid-size SUV already available in Australia. Unearthed by CarNewsChina, the filings reveal the Chinese automaker’s smaller ute will be underpinned by a car-based monocoque (or unibody) platform, unlike the popular Shark 6 plug-in hybrid dual-cab also on sale here, which employs the more rugged ladder-frame construction typically preferred for off-road vehicles. This could make it a rival for compact car-based…

Consider the X3 to be BMW’s Goldilocks offering. It’s not quite as big or expensive as the larger X5, but it’s a step up from the X1 and X2 in terms of sizing and quality. That’s generally still true with the G45 chassis X3, which BMW introduced just last year. Relatively new to the market as it is, BMW makes no changes to the X3 for 2026. The lack of changes for the model is a tad bittersweet; nevertheless, the BMW X3 remains the driver’s choice in the small SUV segment. You can likely pick one up today — production…

The real battle between traditional automakers and Chinese manufacturers isn’t happening in Europe or the United States, but in developing and low-income economies. China is steadily becoming a serious contender for consumers across Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, Central Asia, and Southeast Asia. A key factor behind the success of Chinese car brands in these regions is price. Consumers in developing economies tend to be more price-sensitive than those in wealthier nations, and Chinese vehicles are typically more affordable than their…
