Back in 2013, when Sergio Marchionne was still at the helm of FCA, the company announced that, through an agreement with Mazda, Alfa Romeo would develop a new roadster based on the Mazda MX-5—a modern revival of the legendary Duetto. Those plans, however, never fully materialized. Alfa Romeo shifted its focus to the Giulia and Stelvio, while Fiat brought the MX-5–based roadster to market as the 124 Spider, which failed to make much of a splash. Yet the dream of a new Alfa Romeo Duetto never quite disappeared. According to Juan Manuel Diaz, the designer credited as the “father” of…

Or, more specifically, below the newly standalone BMW M4 coupe/convertible. Little did we know at the time that the original BMW M2 was just the tip of the iceberg. Only a few short years after its debut, BMW blessed its newest Wunderkind with a hotter engine lifted straight out of the M3 and M4. Later, a stripped-down CS version fine-tuned the formula even more. But no matter…

The high-performance QX80 will allegedly go on sale next spring. Over the last few years, Infiniti has downsized its portfolio, killing off many of its cars to focus heavily on crossovers and SUVs. In 2024, the company unveiled the new QX80, which could soon spawn a high-performance version. Brian Maragno, the luxury brand’s product marketing director, told Automotive News that this new variant would be a “first step” toward offering a…
