The big surprise is almost ready for the reveal. BMW is so close to building a new car after a series of pre-production photos of its new i3 went online, even though it was completely camouflaged, giving little detail of what this new car will look like.
The photos taken from BMW’s Munich plant show the 2027 BMW i3 almost ready for production, and everything in it, like the body, the door handles, the mirrors, and almost all the features that are not camouflaged at its front, may appear in the production car. We couldn’t tell much of it because BMW decided to keep it in anticipation awaiting its final launch.
Being part of the Neuse, we will be least assured that the new electric i3 will follow the road map of the ix3 electric SUV, which comes with a 109 kWh battery pack and an 800-volt system that gives the ix3 a boost of up to 500 miles WLTP (Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Procedure). The i3 may also have similar ix3 quick charging of up to 400 kilowatts, and I am pretty sure for its interior it will share a design with the ix3.
The production of the 2027 BMW i3 will pick off in the second half of this year, and before that, BMW will reveal it, giving us the hints of what to expect in the market. The pre-series stands as of importance to our plant, as stated by Peter Weber, who is the head of BMW’s Munich factory. He continues.
“For the first time, we have built a BMW i3 entirely at our plant—using state-of-the-art manufacturing technology and digitally connected processes.”
