The Marvel Cinematic Universe is getting closer to finishing The Multiverse Saga, which will conclude with 2027’s Avengers: Secret Wars. While Phase 6 just began in 2025 with The Fantastic Four: First Steps, the phase is eyed to be the shortest one for Marvel Studios, with only a handful of upcoming MCU movies and series in the works.

While the Avengers. Doomsday cast finished principal photography on September 19, 2025; the follow-up has yet to begin filming, with Anthony and Joe Russo set to direct as well. No production date has been set yet for the Phase 6 finale.

MTV recently caught up with Andrew Garfield, one of the handful of actors to have played Spider-Man in live-action, and attempted to inquire about him potentially being in Avengers: Secret Wars. “[Laughs] See, what it is, is this a tell? Or what is it?,” he stated while adding, “You’ll find out! Whatever response I’m having, is it exasperation? Is it? I don’t know. You’ll find out.”

The outlet proceeded to ask the British star what characters he would want to crossover with now that he is part of the MCU timeline. The 42-year-old actor revealed, “Yeah, I love Hugh Jackman,” as the X-Men veteran came back as Wolverine in 2024’s Deadpool & Wolverine.

Garfield also went on to praise the animated Spider-Verse films, “I really love the Spider-Verse movies. I love Lord and Miller. Just putting that out there.” His Peter Parker has technically appeared in that franchise, as archival footage of him from The Amazing Spider-Man was used in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.

While reiterating that he “love Wolverine. I love Hugh,” another Marvel player he would want to cross paths with is Tom Hardy’s Venom. Garfield shared, “Tom Hardy is obviously a really formidable actor, and what he’s done with Venom is super fun. I’m up for a good time.”

The Sony trilogy with Eddie Brock finished its run in 2024 with Venom: The Last Dance, which wrapped up Hardy’s arc, after his titular character had a cameo in 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home. Garfield returned alongside Tobey Maguire’s iteration of the web-crawler, with the film grossing more than $1.9 billion, becoming the most profitable installment in The Multiverse Saga.

Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom and the leads of The Fantastic Four: First Steps have been confirmed to be part of the 2027 cast, with more actors to be announced at a later time. Avengers: Secret Wars is scheduled to hit theaters on December 17, 2027.
