In latest recall news, Rivian has announced a recall for over 19,641 of their R1 models which were earlier been serviced for an issue with the rear suspension.

The documents filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) stated that the previous serviced rear suspension may have resulted in a toe link joint separating increasing chances of an accident.

The recall covers certain models of the R1 built between 2022 to 2025, this is about 7031 R1 SUVS are affected according to reports by NHTSA, For the R1T pickup trucks, about 12,610 of them are affected with the recall. Going deeper onto the document, it says that all models that are affected went for servicing on there rear suspension between the dates of April 1 2022 and March 10 of 2025..

During that time of servicing, Rivian conducted a procedure of separating and resembling the rear suspension toe link joint and they were using what is today an outdated service procedure, this lead to to the rear toe link on some cars that were serviced to separate increasing chances of involvement in a crash.

There are no warning signs listed in relation with the recall problem and only one crash was recorded involved a single car and the accident resulted in minor injuries.

Rivan will do a replacement any affected rear toe links using current day’s service procedure and it will be planing to start notifying owners starting February 24 2026 at that point the Vins associated with the recalled vehicles will become searchable.
